Job Description: DevOps Engineer (Infrastructure & Platform)
Role Overview
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and operate the infrastructure and
platform that support our core systems. While the Technical Operator defines system behavior,
logic, and architectural decisions, this role is responsible for how those systems are deployed,
scaled, secured, and operated in production.
You will own our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment, ensuring high availability, security,
automation, and operational excellence across all environments (development, staging, and
production).
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform or Pulumi.
- Ensure environments are fully reproducible, versioned, and auditable.
CI/CD & Release Automation
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and zero-downtime
deployments.
- Enforce best practices around branching strategies, artifact management, and deployment
approvals.
GCP Platform Management
- Operate and optimize core GCP services including GKE, Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), Pub/Sub,
IAM, and VPC networking.
- Monitor performance, availability, and cost efficiency of cloud resources.
Observability & Reliability
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Cloud Monitoring/Logging and/or Prometheus
and Grafana.
- Define SLIs, SLOs, and alerting thresholds to ensure 24/7 system reliability.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Security & Compliance
- Enforce least-privilege access models across all services.
- Manage secrets, encryption, identity, and network security.
- Support compliance initiatives aligned with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks.
Developer Enablement & Platform Experience
- Collaborate with Full-Stack Engineers and the Technical Operator to improve developer
workflows.
- Standardize containerization and local development environments using Docker.
- Reduce operational friction by providing self-service tooling and clear platform documentation.
Technical Profile & Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform in production environments.
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Professional DevOps Engineer certification is a strong plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling.
- Experience implementing security best practices in cloud-native environments.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and Cloud SQL operations, including backups and scaling.
- English proficiency is required, as the role involves technical documentation, tooling, and
collaboration in English.
